Great place for the family. It has fire pits, picnic areas, great walking trails. Great place to take the kids to fish. Winter here is great as well.
Something about walking the trails in the wilderness that calms everyone down.Many miles of trails, great picnic sites, washrooms available, and lots of smaller lakes to wonder around. No motorized toys allowed. Dogs, Horses, or whatever critter your bring, must be on a lesh. Yes there maybe bears in the area, i haven't seen one there and I have been going out there for 20 years. Only 1/2 hour west of edmonton. Lots of parking and different access points to the well laid out areas.
Had a very nice family outing here on Mother's day. I had never heard of this place and was pleasantly surprised! The Lake seems more like a pond at first where the main seating is but if you go for a walk down the trail it is much larger than we originally thought.
Another one of our favourite places to go for a family walk.There are 10+ km of trails to walk and the trails are always maintained well. We can bring our dog here as well which is nice. We have seen people riding horses along these trails, as well as people training for runs. Its a nice quiet area that offers a lot for our family. The kids can burn off some energy running around or playing at the little park, sometimes we get to see wildlife such as deer, beavers and birds. A great place to take nature pictures.
Beautiful walking trails especially in the fall. Also very enjoyable in the winter months. My only complaint is that some people don't obey the leash rule for dogs and we've had a couple bad experiences because of that.
